11 Online Deception

As already demonstrated in this book, in some ways we behave differently online from how we behave in the physical world. In Chapter 2 we examined whether individuals might explore and experience different identities in cyberspace from their identities offline. In Chapter 3, Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 we learnt that the ways in which people relate, develop friendships and develop romantic relationships in cyberspace can be somewhat different from the ways in which we form relationships in the physical world.
