Inspired by vintage packaging, Indianborn, Toronto-based illustrator Gary Taxali’s playful work always contains type and pictorial elements. These are joined by his hand-drawn doodles and cartoon-like characters: ‘The idea of creating something that looks as if it’s been defaced or vandalized is something I have always been drawn to,’ he explains.
