There’s rather a ‘freakshow’ quality to much of Philippe Jusforgues’s photomontages. What appear at first glance to be formal portraits or family snapshots have been manipulated, sometimes to create a subtle change, other times to form grotesque faces that look like the results of a scientific experiment that’s gone badly wrong.
