Iranian-born, Utrecht-based Ashkan Honarvar’s often sombre collages are primarily concerned with the human form: ‘I always play with the human body, creating deformations through collage technique.’ He takes inspiration from the hard-to-source vintage medical imagery that he collects, much of which is war-related.
