East London-based James Dawe’s ‘subversive and surreal’ photomontages feature many seemingly unrelated images that appear to fit perfectly together, juxtaposing weird and wonderful elements that somehow seem to make sense. Working digitally using many of his own photographs and drawings, he loves the fact that ‘with a collage you can create a heightened and twisted reality’ which becomes so much more believable when a photographic image is used.
