It took me 5 years to complete this book.
Technology changes quickly. There are not many technical topics that you can take 5 years to develop into a book and still have a relevant product at the end. Fortunately, this book is primarily about SAS, and SAS has “staying power” in the tech world.
Even with SAS' stable nature, the past 5 years have spanned 3 major versions of SAS, 4 versions of SAS Enterprise Guide, 4 versions of the SAS Add-In for Microsoft Office, and 5 versions of Microsoft .NET. All of these products (with all of their versions) are addressed in some way within this book, which I hope will make the book and its examples relevant and useful for a long time.
