It is a truth not universally acknowledged that writers on education in the late twentieth century tend to advocate integration in segregating prose. However, gobbledegook, more widespread in North America than in Britain, is not confined to the issue of integration. It pervades other aspects of education but its use seems at its most paradoxical in writings which promote the principle that children with special educational needs should be educated in the mainstream together with their peers.
