In this chapter Colin Yates and Peter Smith report on an attempt to discover the extent and nature of bullying in two English schools using a questionnaire with groups of 13 and 15 year olds. They compare their findings with reports of bullying in Norwegian schools, where attention has been directed at the problem for some years but where the reported incidence is far lower than in this and other English studies.
