7. Micro Layouts
I MENTIONED at the beginning of the book that we’re in need of a real layout solution with CSS. We’ve been bending the float property for over a decade to flexibly position content on the page, but lack a real system for laying out web pages. Which is kind of absurd when you think about it.
Fortunately there is much happening in CSS3 on the layout front. And in the spirit of the rest of this book, I’d like to share some CSS3 layout patterns that you can safely use today. Like the other examples in the book, if the browser doesn’t support the styles we’ll use, the user experience on your web page won’t suffer.
