Chapter 6. Formatting Fields

The objectives of this chapter are to learn the following tasks:

  • Formatting fields

  • Setting global options

Formatting the fields on your report to make them user-friendly and meaningful is an important aspect of the design process. The formatting options available depend on the datatype of the field. The common datatypes are String, Number, Currency, Date and Time, Date, Time, Boolean, and BLOB (Binary Large Objects).

To format a field, select the field and access the Format Field dialog box from the Format > Format Field option or right-click the field and choose Format Field.
