When you are about to launch a new application that is months in the making or are about to sell your wares over the Web or are allowing your field service reps to get to their data over the net, you realize there will be risks. The growth of CRM and e-business is exposing our organizations to more access than ever before. There are too many variables in terms of hardware, firmware, operating systems, middleware, applications, and networking for anyone to account adequately for all the possibilities. In fact the only truly secure system is one that is switched off and good to no one.
