With the current economic downturn and pressure from customers to provide comprehensive applications, consolidation of CRM vendors into a handfull of dominant major players will increase. Analysts do predict that some small CRM vendors, particularly those in niche markets will survive. Some of the key acquisitions over the past few years within the CRM industry include:
