The Failure of Business Schools

Our nation’s business schools are failing their students.

While some, although certainly far from all, offer a course in crisis management, these seem to be mostly classes on theories, case studies, or academic treatises, or that offer guest speakers (like me). Interesting though these may be, they have little or no utilitarian value in the real world. None of these schools actually teaches its MBA students the hands-on skills they will need to manage a crisis should one befall them at their new company after graduation.

And this, in my view, is a great failing that should be remedied.
