Senior Management: Your Own Worst Enemy?

Every once in a while, I get a call from a company with an unusual request. The company either is in a crisis or sees one on the horizon, and the relevant managers know exactly what needs to be done, but they can’t persuade the CEO or other appropriate members of senior management to take action. Or, sometimes there is no actual crisis, but the managers have seen how other companies have suffered during crises, and they feel that their business needs crisis management and crisis communications plans, teams, and training before it’s too late. They feel that, because of my experience, if I have a meeting with the reluctant individuals, I can somehow persuade them that action is required.
