Say It Ain’t So, Joe!1—The Penn State Crisis

One of the worst crises ever to occur at a U.S. college happened at Penn State University. I refer, of course, to the horrific sexual abuse crimes against some ten minor children, committed for years by a former assistant football coach, Jerry Sandusky, who in June 2012 was convicted of 45 of 48 criminal counts of child sexual abuse, some of which occurred on campus. On October 9, 2012, Sandusky was sentenced to 30 to 60 years in prison, guaranteeing that the 68-year-old man will die behind bars, should the appeals fail.
