In this chapter I provide you with several instant visualizations, which I call mental flash cards. You can prepare these quick exercises in advance, store them in your memory, and call upon them in times of stress or when you need motivation, inspiration, or encouragement.

All you need to do is recall the visualization and spend a few seconds viewing it in your mind to bring back feelings and thoughts that are helpful for managing the task at hand.

remember.eps When using mental flash cards, be as imaginative as you can when you apply them – really paint the picture that comes to mind as you read them. Then, when you’ve imprinted the picture in your mind, simply reviewing the visualization instantly recalls the images, emotions, and feelings it originally evoked.
