5.2. Creating a Graphical Skin with Illustrator

Adobe Illustrator is a vector editing tool that allows you to export assets in a variety of formats. In Illustrator CS3, there is more integration with Flex and easier workflows to bring your final artwork into Flex. Similar to Flash, you can use symbols and export your skins as a SWF (pronounced “swif”) to be used in Flex. In this exercise, you will learn how to create skins for Flex using Illustrator.
