Whereas you can automate Maya tasks with expressions and MEL scripts, you can exert even greater control with Python and PyMEL scripting. Python is a widely-used object-oriented programming language. PyMEL is a customized variation of Python developed by the animation industry. Python and PyMEL scripts may be loaded, sourced, and saved through the Script Editor. On the other hand, Maya’s nCloth system offers a means to dynamically deform a surface as if it was a specific material with flexible or rigid properties.
