Selecting and Surveying Locations

Few of us have the luxury of a studio for video. Most often we teachers and trainers make do with locations, that is, places that we use for video that are not created for that purpose. Offices, labs, homes, athletic fields, auditoriums, and other workaday spaces become our shooting locations. Selecting locations for our shoots can be time-consuming, and errors in location selection and surveying can delay our video production.

In this chapter we'll refer to scripts and then see what we have to find out and assure about our shooting locations. We'll also look at specific problems that can be encountered in some locations.
