10.2. Assigning Printers via Group Policy

Let me guess what another of your biggest headaches is.

Printers.

So, wouldn't it be great if we could just zap printers down to our Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Vista client machines? Or, whenever Sally roams from Desktop to Desktop, she had access to the same printers?

Those are two different goals, and we're about to approach both of them here.

Before we get too far along, let me explain that the goal is the same: deploying printers to our Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Vista clients (or servers, too, I suppose). However, there are three potential ways to get there:
