It is possible to get a multiple-button mouse for your Macintosh. But this book assumes you have a standard mouse with only one button.
It's also possible to get a three-button mouse for your Windows PC. Frankly, I think two buttons are confusing enough, so I'll assume that's all your mouse has.
You can also get a mouse with a roller—for Windows or Mac OS. (It's pretty common on Windows mice.) You can use the roller to scroll an active window. Since this feature doesn't work consistently, I don't bother talking about it in this book.
