Fire Effects in the Open

 

Fire sequences outdoors benefit from the fact that materials may be burned freely without too much concern for surrounding areas. At night the light of the fire predominates – in daylight it is the smoke.

Burning buildings

Where practical buildings are used and it is essential to create the effect of fire without damaging the property, pyrotechnic flares can be laid on trays of sand. These flares produce an intense source of white light and also a considerable amount of light-coloured smoke. The combination gives the effect of a large conflagration.

For night shots a few flares should be positioned at the back of the building to silhouette its shape against the night sky.
