Where are we today? And where do we go from here?
I believe our purpose in life is to develop our souls as individuals and as organizations. As individuals, we have been given the gift of possibility—the opportunity to take a spark of life and grow it into something useful. As organizations, the same possibility exists. In each moment, day-to-day, we either make a difference or we don’t.
In the Introduction, I mentioned some early heroes of the 21st century: Paul Farmer, Jeffrey Sachs, Lucy Calkins, Bob Carkhuff, Betsey Hall, and Julie Meek. Some of these names are familiar to you, and some you have probably never heard of. If you don’t know them, Google them as fast as you can. They are all worth knowing.
But we can’t rely on the heroes ...
