Creating Soul in Business

How would you recognize an organizational soul if you saw one? After searching for 20 years, I finally found a corporate soul at Lotus Development Corporation in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Lotus was the developer of the initial spreadsheet tool 1-2-3 for the personal computer. It sold a million copies the first day it was on the market, and launched Lotus as a high tech powerhouse. By 1990, Lotus had sales of $1B and 4,000 employees. Its headquarters was built alongside the Charles River in Cambridge.
