Acknowledgments
Whenever I'd read the acknowledgment page in a book, I'd see a list of “thank you's” and have no idea what all those thanked people actually did. Now that I've actually written a book, I still have no idea.
But I do have an idea what the people thanked below did. As this book was being written, I'd shoot the chapters off to them, and they'd grace me with their comments and suggestions. Just about every suggestion any of them made has been used. You, the reader, and I, the writer, are better off for these people being so generous with their time and insights, and for their knowing how to type.
