acknowledgments

This book was, to a great degree, a community effort, and I spoke to hundreds of bloggers and visited thousands of sites to compile the material herein; so my first acknowledgement is to the photo-blogging community at large, without whose support this book would not have been possible. Secondly, I would like to thank all of the members of the Utata group for being the coolest people who ever picked up cameras, for answering all my questions, and for offering up their wisdom and talent with enthusiasm and generosity.

Special thanks to Marya Figueroa (emdot), who loved clotheslines and helped me believe in things; Irina Souiki, who keeps utata.org (and me sometimes) stapled together; Carolynn Primeau (Charlie), who brought lots of take-out coffee and read lots of draft material; and Greg Fallis, who picked up the slack with good humor.

Many, many photo bloggers were kind enough to lend their time, energy, and photography to this project, and they are mentioned throughout. To each of them I offer my sincere thanks and appreciation.
