As described in Chapter 3, “Creating Content for Your Blog,” in the beginning, all blogs were personal. Anything else just wasn’t “blogging.” In January 2005, all that changed—January 24–25, 2005 was the first Blog Business Summit. It was a watershed moment when people starting talking about not only the business of blogging (like being a professional blogger, which I already was at the time) but businesses using blogs to reach, connect, and communicate with their customers.
