Unlike rethinking interventions that directly challenge the usefulness of some belief in the focal system’s prism, reframing interventions seek to change the way something is interpreted. This is done by finding and altering the belief that the focal system is implicitly using to make sense of a situation. If Pat, the boss of a work group, tells Chris, “You should revise the presentation to have greater impact,” several interpretations are possible, depending on how Chris implicitly frames the statement.
