There will always be things that will knock you. Difficult situations and circumstances present us with opportunities to quit. In truth, I think that they probably offer us an opportunity to make the excuse and find a reason to give up. Nobody likes to say, “I quit because it was just too tough” or “I quit because I couldn't handle it”. It's much easier to say, “I gave up because I got injured” or “I had to stop because my equipment failed”.

However, I suspect that the real reason we give up is because we don't want to go on any more. Perhaps we were just too tired, or we were uncomfortable, or we'd put in a lot of effort and were not seeing the ...
