High-Efficiency Coating and Cathodic Protection

Abstract

This chapter details various types of coating used for different applications. In most cases, the applied coating complements the cathodic protection provided to a structure. This chapter considers the coating properties that should be evaluated when designing a corrosion protection system. The discussion addresses the use of high-efficiency coating systems for offshore structures, as well as the application of extruded polyethylene and polyolefin polyethylene coatings on flow-lines and SCRs.
