6.6.3. Desktop Panes and Internal Frames

Many applications present information in multiple windows that are all contained inside a large frame. If you minimize the application frame, all of its windows are hidden at the same time. In the Windows environment, this user interface is sometimes called the multiple document interface (MDI). Figure 6.47 shows a typical application using this interface.
