Like other art forms, such as film, theatre, and novels, games have a cast of characters, each of which plays a particular role. For example, Snail Bait has the runner (the game’s central character), coins, rubies, sapphires, bees, bats, buttons, and a snail, all of which are shown in Figure 6.1. See Chapter 1 for a discussion of those characters and their roles in the game.
