Sexual harassment is a serious problem that has only recently been addressed. The casting couch and its equivalents were tolerated for many decades. Close to half of women and 10 to 20 percent of men in the workforce experience sexual harassment. It is destructive not only to the individuals involved but to the company. Sexual harassment damages morale, increases absenteeism, damages the company's reputation and its ability to hire top people, increases turnover, and sometimes results in lawsuits.
