About the Authors

Bob Britten is an assistant professor at West Virginia University’s Reed College of Media, where he teaches visual journalism. He has worked as a reporter, graphics reporter, designer, art director, graphics editor and editorial director, for newspapers and magazines including the Greenville Record-Argus, Meadville Tribune, Columbia Missourian, Seattle Times, Allegheny magazine, and Farm Journal (as well as its subsidiary, Beef Today). Britten has taught courses in media design, information graphics, data visualization, interactive design and visual literacy.
