Introduction

Looking back on the previous edition of this book is a lot like looking at old photos of fashion models – some things look great in retrospect while others look ridiculous. In the early 2000s, this book set out to define what journalism was becoming as well as how best to prepare students for this new and changing world. In some cases, our predictions were right on the money. In other cases, we would have been better off telling you that you could have a flying car soon.
