The Root Locus Technique

9.1 INTRODUCTION

We have observed in the previous chapter that there are two related points with respect to study of stability of a control system. First, all the poles of the closed loop system must lie in the left hand side of the imaginary axis in the s-plane. The second, the examination that has to be made as to see how close the poles are with the -axis of the s-plane. The second aspect provides us with information regarding the relative stability of the control system.
