Chapter 37. Closing Circle Three

When reviewing the pattern stories, we can make the following observations:

  • When using the patterns as an analytical tool we can cover significant portions of the design with patterns.

  • Several Eclipse components make use of the Composite pattern. Once you understand the structure of the composite, you understand a significant portion of the component.

We began this book with an apparent contradiction—the simultaneous need to be supported while programming and the need to support others. Along the way we have encountered many other apparent contradictions resolved by the design and implementation of Eclipse. Here are a handful:
