You will of course make mistakes. But a large part of the job is that of having confidence in your accuracy, because then you can get the confidence of the unit and time-wasting arguments do not arise.

What to Do Over a Mistake

If you or an artist make a mistake, and you are immediately aware of it, you can always quietly tell the director and ask for a retake. Sometimes a director will not retake for continuity. In that case there is little you can do, except take the rather drastic and ill-advised action of walking into shot, smiling broadly and saying ‘Hello Ma’. But after such action you might well find yourself off the set and possibly off the shoot.
