CONFLICT MANAGEMENT MODEL FOR TEAMS

OBJECTIVES
  • Share with each other individual perceptions of the conflict.
  • Produce agreed-upon, working goal statements.
  • Contract as to how and when it will be done.
PROCESS
  • Step 1: Individual analysis. Each person writes what the conflict is about so all can see.
  • Step 2: Share individual analysis with everyone. This is a process of comparing and contrasting perceptions, a process that surfaces differences, and encourages understanding of them. The facilitator helps the group devise a single list from the many.
  • Step 3: Parties separate and note their insights on individual analysis sheets. Look for core or crucial issues and reconceptualize the conflict in writing.
