Summary
The FI Closing Cockpit is one of the newest components in the ECC environment. It provides good capabilities to help with the closing process and you will experience an immediate improvement and efficiency during your closing process. In this chapter, we outlined the initial setup and basic configuration of the Closing Cockpit. You can probably see why this feature is intended not only for FI and CO but also for any of the other components in the SAP systems that need to be managed at period end. In many of the figures, you saw the folders for the MM, PP, and SD areas. As you work your way through the setup process, you will learn that there are more than 400 programs and flow definitions available for closing activities.
