Configuring Internal Order Accounting

For some areas within SAP, such as Cost Center Accounting, you can do the configuration in any sequence. In other areas, though, you must complete the type of information required for a certain step in a prior step. Internal order development is one of those areas in which you must follow a specific order of configuration.

From a developer’s viewpoint, the order type is the central figure in Internal Order Accounting. The order type determines what information can be held, how it will be settled, planning and budgeting parameters, authorizations, what order master data is required, and how it will be displayed on the screen.
