Assessments, Distributions, and Periodic Repostings

In the past, accounting departments spent numerous hours manually allocating operating activities among their Strategic Business Units (SBUs) to get a more accurate profitability picture. Although we won’t debate the worth of such allocations, we’ll discuss SAP’s capabilities in this area. We’ve already covered imputed cost calculations and indirect activity allocations in prior sections. The three remaining allocation methods we’ll describe are assessments, distributions, and periodic repostings.
