This chapter covered a combination of configuration and master data maintenance. We finished the configuration of our chart of accounts and created a G/L account. The important concept of automatic account determination was introduced in this chapter. As you work through other chapters, be sure to look for automatic account assignments in the IMG because it would be impossible to cover every needed automatic account assignment in this book. If you remember one thing from this chapter, remember that automatic account assignments act like a whole table transport and that changing the rules on a processing key wipes out all existing account assignments for that key.
