TPC Results in a Competitive Environment

The information presented above should help you better understand any marketing claims made by other vendors about their own TPC results.

When using TPC results, vendors are responsible to ensure that they do not violate the TPC’s fair use policy. That means:

  • Never quoting estimated TPC results except under a Non-Disclosure Agreement.

  • Quoting all primary metrics when putting a TPC result into writing (including proposals, presentations, external web pages). For example, TPC-C results should never be published showing only tpmC; $/tpmC and availability dates must also be disclosed.

  • Comparisons of the TPC results of different vendors cannot be used unless all the results are current and have not been withdrawn ...
