A Worked Example

To bring together many of the recommendations in this chapter, let’s illustrate the principles by considering a server with four StorEdge T3s, containing 73-Gbyte disks, and two D1000 arrays—one with 36-Gbyte disks and one with 18-Gbyte disks. Each array is connected to the server by a dedicated host adapter. The T3s each have 9 disks, the 36-Gbyte D1000 array has 8 disks, and the 18-Gbyte D1000 array has 12 disks.

I would suggest placing the root file system, swap, and applications on one of the D1000 arrays.
