In this section we discuss aspects of managing workloads: domains, processor sets, and resource management (with Solaris Resource Manager).

Domains

The ability to partition the Starfire (Enterprise 10000) into separate systems, or domains, was undoubtedly one of the features contributing to the remarkable success of that server. The domain capability has since made its way onto the next generation of Sun servers, the Sun Fire family.
