OBJECTIVE

The objective of this chapter is to explore a variety of different approaches to bringing the CMS to fruition.

Time constraints meant that discussion of this issue was limited to a strategic view of the CMS architecture, the design and the build processes.

Four approaches to integrating existing configuration files into a holistic CMS were considered:

  • In-house integration;
  • External systems integration;
  • A primary supplier (vendor) solution;
  • A hybrid of all of these.
