OBJECTIVES

This chapter aims to help readers to identify and prioritise critical success factors (CSFs) for the configuration management system and to identify barriers to implementing it.

SUMMARY

This chapter looks at CSFs and barriers to implementation for the CMS, both generally and for a selection of specific stakeholders in the CMS. It relates the CSFs found in interactive discussion to the CSFs for service transition in the ITIL volumes and highlights ITIL CSFs that do not seem to feature strongly in delegates’ discussions.
