Very young children appear to find it easy to learn. They watch and copy, ask questions, try things out, make mistakes and try again. They don’t tell themselves they can’t learn; if they fall down they just get back up and start again. It doesn’t occur to them that they can’t learn; that they can’t understand something or that they can’t increase their knowledge and skills. They’re confident about learning – they believe they can learn.
