The Process Model shown opposite defines the steps, identifies the tools to use, and shows desired end results. The Process Model Checklist depicted on the next page provides a list of reminders you can use to plan each step of your mini needs assessment. It also provides time-saving tips for each step in the process. An overview of the process follows.

Three activities are involved in pinpointing the problem:
